The Fiscal Cliff of Gilligan's Island

It’s not really a fiscal cliff is it?

It’s really the GOP’s version of Gilligan’s Island.  Senator McConnell is the erstwhile clueless and basically nasty skipper with the hapless and idiotic Senator Cantor as Gilligan.  Instead of trying to get off the island, though, the Skipper and Gilligan are completely enamored of the Howells and are in thrall to their every whim, and use their silent filibuster to thwart any idea the Professor has to get them off the Island.

As for Mr. Bohner, despite the oompah-loompah tan, he is actually Ginger, sashaying around and vaguely trying to decide what gown to wear to the sendoff party and offering no real solutions for escaping fiscal disaster.

And the rest of us?  We are Mary Anne whose every desire is ignored.  No wonder we are all stuck on the island of the GOP’s making.  No leadership, just kowtowing to a bunch of worthless super wealthy just because they have money – but do not contribute to the well-being of our society.  Not everyone is Warren Buffet who would like to see all of us pay our fair share.

I guess he must be the rescue team that came in after 15 years to get them off the island.

Too bad we don’t have that long. =P
